WHAT IS ETEEAP?
It is a comprehensive program of identifying, assessing and assigning equivalent college-level learning for non-formal and informal training, and knowledge, skills, attitudes and values from related work experiences towards the grant of academic credit or related academic degree.

“Adopting the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) as an Integral Part of the Educational System and Designating the Commission On Higher Education as the Authority Responsible for its Implementation”
The Implementing Guidelines on ETEEAP implementation are contained in CHED Memorandum Order No. 21, series of 1997.
STATEMENT OF POLICY
It is recognized that education and the acquisition of higher expertise are processes that also take place in the world of work and beyond the confines of the classroom.
RATIONALE FOR ETEEAP IMPLEMENTATION
The need to provide individuals with proven competence, access to opportunities that will prepare them for higher value jobs required for achieving global competitiveness, advancing strategic concerns of the State and promoting sustainable development.
ETEEAP ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES - 1
Validating test, interview, product presentation, skills demonstration, worksite visit, portfolio assessment are used to evaluate and assess the applicant’s prior and experiential learning.
Assessment - 2

Competency-based assessment and competency enhancement / supplementation are essential procedures in the equivalency and accreditation program.

After completing the equivalency and accreditation procedures, the successful applicant is awarded equivalent credits and / or an appropriate academic degree by the deputized higher education institution.
Documents required for application
- Certification of Individual proficiency in the discipline or field of interest.
- Certification of training and workshop attended.
- Other documents or evidence of capability and knowledge in the field applied for quivalency.
- Most recent academic record.
- Service record.
- Birth certificate to prove that he/she is at least 22 years old.

Who can avail of the ETEEAP?

Any Filipino who is, at least, a high school graduate or who has obtained a PEPT placement equivalent to first year college;

He / she must have been employed for an aggregate of at least five (5) years in the field or industry related to the academic program or discipline he/she is obtaining an equivalency;

He / she must be at least 22 years old; and
-
He / she must be able to show evidence of capability and thorough knowledge in the field applied for equivalency and accreditation.
QUALITY STANDARDS IN IMPLEMENTING ETEEAP

Credit should be awarded only for learning, and not for experiences.

The competencies and standards used by the HEIs should be determined by experts in the area and should be consistent with those already determined by the Technical Panels of the Commission on Higher Education.

The level of academic credit, (i.e., baccalaureate, graduate) should be awarded only for the appropriate level of learning.
